...is a brilliant prgramme on BBC2, 9pm on Thursdays. I'm watching it as I type this. Ruth Goodman (of Victorian Farm fame) is in it, and they are using the Pharmacy at the Blists Hill Victorian Town as the location. Ruth's wearing the dress she made herself while on the Victorian Farm. They've got a PHd student acting as the apprentice, and a university professor acting as the pharmacist. He is finding separating his modern knowledge and expectations, from what was happening (according to sources) with medicine in Victorian times, difficult. Creams and medicines often contained cannabis, opium itself, and other opiates, which are obviously illegal now. Last week they tried to recreate something that originally contained opium. I can't remember what they replaced it with...Well worth watching...
