I'm sorry to be the one to mention it even before November has had a chance to make an appearance but please don't blame me. I have just been given my first assignment of the year specifically relating to Christmas - assembling the Christmas decorations for a clothes chain's window displays.
This is fairly late compared to a couple of years ago when I was translating a brochure selling Christmas lights (not just tree lights but massive outdoor installations) - before Easter.....
*Isn't it wonderful? German which is renowned for its very long nouns has a nice short verb which needs a whole sentence in English. It means something along the lines of "Christmas is in evidence" or "It's beginning to feel like Christmas" or "Christmas is in the air". Which it is in the rose-covered cottage: woolly jumpers, heating on, candles at breakfast and dinner, twilight by 6 pm....
