Witness: The Lake

Gentle Wibloggers with access to iPlayer may be interested to listen to last Tuesday's Afternoon Play on Radio 4 - Witness: The Lake. It is the first of five plays in the run-up to Easter. This particular one is only available until the end of tomorrow but if you have a spare 45 minutes it is well worth listening to.

I'm not sure that the Lake (Galilee) itself plays such an enormous part but it is a good retelling of the Gospel story including the Baptism, the Temptation and the Sermon on the Mount.

The characters all speak with Yorkshire accents - perhaps to show that they are unpretentious men - and one of them sounds just like Alan the Vicar on The Archers but I suppose it's not too incongruous; at least he doesn't sound like Eddie Grundy -  or Jack Woolley...
