Last week I was phoned by a market researcher. I agreed to participate in the survey *as long as she was quick!!*

After a load of questions trying to find out how cultured I am (oooh, very! Yes, I've been to museums, art galleries and concerts...yes, I use the library) we then had this little exchange:

Market Researcher: What do you do for a living?
Kerensa: I'm a translator.
MR: What is the main objective of the business you work for?
K: To produce translations.
MR: Of all the tasks you perform what would you say is the main one?
K: I'll give you three guesses....

Fortunately, the market researcher found this hilarious... and thanked me for brightening up her day!

In other news, a Googler found me (listed as the top hit...oh, the glory!) under the following search "'about this time next year' translation notes". I can't imagine what s/he really wanted to find out but I discovered that of the 9 hits following my humble blog 7 had biblical themes. Kind of curious... in a slow news sort of way....
