Today's country is Algeria.

Official languages: Arabic, French, Berber

There were many well established churches in the region which is now known as Algeria by 200 AD but Christianity is believed to have been extinct by 1160, not to be revived until around 1970.

Algeria has had relative religious freedom since 2002 but new regulations were passed in 2006 imposing fines and imprisonment on anyone deemed to be evangelising others. The Church is tiny and still in its infancy and needs support.
