A red letter day

Today has been something of a red letter day. In the blogging world, not only did I get a second mention on Jack the Lass's* wiblog, I also received one on ee's**. So here I am squaring the circle, so to speak. I was astounded to read on ee's blog the following verse:

'Earth's crammed with heaven,
And every common bush afire with God
But only those who see take off their shoes.
The rest sit round it and pick blackberries,
And daub their natural faces unaware.'

I once received a homemade Christmas card showing a beautiful peachy-pink sunset and the first three lines of this quotation which had been spotted on a hoarding round a building site in the centre of London on 21 December that year. It is beautiful - and the last two lines enhance the first three - so thanks to ee for that little discovery! I had no idea that the author was Elizabeth Barrett Browning so feel that this also qualifies for red letteryness.

The blackberries are ready for their jars and progress is being made on the translation of the documents on printed circuit boards - with fingers which are somewhat reddish purple. In my world that counts as red letteryness too.
