Book review - PS to Stasiland

I have just tripped over an article dated March 2006 referring to the reconstruction of files destroyed by the Stasi. There is apparently some sort of computer programme which can piece pages together. To accomplish the task it would take a mere 5 years at a cost of 6 million euros. Admittedly, a fair sum - but not as much as paying 35 salaries of an estimated 25,000 euros per year (inflation not included) over 375 years which would cost 328,125,000 euros. An added advantage would be that victims would be able to find some sort of closure this side of eternity.

I'll let you know if I find out if anyone has stumped up the cash.
