Looking forward to Advent

Just two days ago I was wittering on about translating a word to express "pre-Christmas" and how it was really the season of Advent. Well, now I am feeling "pre-Adventty". I know this is a bit tautologous - looking forward to looking forward [to the original/2nd coming] - but allow me to explain myself!

Yesterday, a parcel arrived for me. It turned out to be from the (now ex-) Lödgerin. Inside was a beautiful tin of Nürnberger Lebkuchen (gingerbread - as those of you who assiduously read my postcards earlier in the autumn will know - it is a speciality of Nuremberg) and a "Teeadventskalender". The Lödgerin is a very creative soul and has assembled 24 individually wrapped tea bags of 24 different flavours to be drunk on the 24 days of Advent - all beautifully presented in a festive box (which I feel sure she will have made herself) and wrapped with a pretty ribbon and a dancing reindeer. I've decided that I'm going to give myself a little tea break every afternoon to enjoy my special cup of tea and nibble a Lebkuchen.

I can't wait! Which is why I need a word to describe anticipating the season of Advent.
