Frohe Festtage!

I know there are another couple of days of Advent to go but I feel as if Christmas begins today as I am travelling to spend my "happy feast days" with the parentage and other family members in just a few hours.

The list of Advent things to do has been slowly achieved:
Advent wreath made and enjoyed
Advent tea (nearly) drunk - a final report later
Verdi's Requiem sung at two different venues
Advent weekend with friends - a happy occasion
German play presented at our Adventsabend received to wild acclaim by a small but select and discerning audience
Christmas presents purchased and wrapped - I've really enjoyed doing this task this year. I felt quite a bit of inspiration which is unusual!
Christmas soiree hosted this evening with Stollen and mulled wine
Christmas "round robin" letter emailed mere minutes ago

I've been a bit too busy to blog about all this as it occurred (I've also been working pretty steadily and had a decorator doing my study and bedroom - so for the past week, I've been sleeping and working in the same 2 metre x 1 metre space with all the furniture piled up around me) so if there are a few slow news days in January I'll fill you in then (It might be more interesting than hearing a blow-by-blow account of the tortures involved in completing my tax return)!

I still have to pack but as I shall be off line for at least a week (horrors! will I survive?) I couldn't log off without wishing my readership the compliments of the season!

I wish you all a very, very happy Christmas with family and friends - and one which is filled with peace and joy.
