One of the WYAC bands: Innovia, will be playing at the Ypod in Woking tonight. Doors open at either 7 or 7.30 pm and, if you're in the Woking sort of area it'll probably be well worth a visit. Tickets costs something or other on the door (sorry, they just emailed me to say come along and didn't say much else) and they're supporting another band called Aspect (I think).
In other news: Was waddling through Woking the other day following a looooong day and a follow up loooong meeting and, while I was mooching, popped into Wesley Owen in Christchurch to see if they had anything interesting. Picked up a copy of Nooma as I've been interested for a while in seeing what it's all about and being a VERY big fan indeed of Velvet Elvis (the fantastic book by Rob Bell, now in it's lord knows what number printing with four, count 'em, four different covers. Not that I'm in any way envious of that sort of literary success.... Just give me a corner to cry in and that'll do) but haven't had a chance to dip into it yet. Also picked up a copy of England's Messiah by Martin Saunders from the bargain bin as a: it was a bargain, b: it is a very good book and c: it can be a present for some one just don't know who yet. If I'm honest though the cover does nothing for me... But the book is a very good read. There was a copy of Dr Sylver book 1 in the bargain bin next to all of the other books that hadn't quite made it but left that there in the hopes that someone would come along and enjoy it eventually...
