A case of extremes...

So for the past three days I have had the most stinking of colds... Prior to very recently I'd get five or six colds a year and they'd be small enough affairs, although I do remember suffering from one particularly bad cold through my original O level exams at school which did nothing to help the concentration.

Now I'm achey, shivery, I'm coughing like a twenty a day smoker, my head hurts as if it's covered in some sort of think bandage and I'm so full of snot you wouldn't believe. I worked through the friday with it, had to sleep all saturday to recover and today I'm walking around with hardly any strength at all, when I do find that I have to move. All told I could be feeling better.

Which causes some probs for next week: monday I have a budgety sort of meeting and a meeting wth the youth comittee, tuesday a planning meet, wednesday it's son boys birthday, sigh, being unwell is very unhelpful.

Tried to do a little bit of emailing around yesterday, didn't work really. Shall porob try later on today but at the moment (typing this sort of kind of diary entry notwithstanding) I was trying to take it easy, all the way until I found that I was utterly bored. Everything aches too much to sleep now so I'm looking around for something to do that will require little energy and the neccesity of sitting upright (lying down just floods the nose although last night it was the coughing that kept me up more than the nose whereas the night before it was vice versa... Missing a family birthday party today as well, grrrr... Did listen to a little bit of the Ryder cup though which, apart from being the radio coverage of an entirely dull event, was a least a distraction.

Nope... can't think now, back to sleep I think. Brains going again. Lots to say about the Big Book Draw (saw the venue for it on friday and it's PERFECT) and the reading of the book the following week in Ottakar's (or Waterstone's if it is renamed by that point but I hope it isn't) but for the moment it's time to rest again. I managed ten minutes of stuff I guess and that's an improvement over the last couple of days.
