Was a good service this morning, in as much as it must have been a terribly hard one for everyone that was a part in the running of it. With the exception of a couple of people chatting away the silence at the beginning was very affecting and then Derek the cleric (as he's known in and around these parts) started off by asking us to stand in silent prayer for a short while. Someone cried near the back of the church, the kids were silent... It was such a strange feeling all told, very thought provoking.

I'd had a huge coughing attack just before we headed out so wifey organised for someone else to look after son boy so that she could do the sunday school instead of me: cue strange looks when wifey went up to recieve a huge basket of fruit (she's not a flowers person) to thank her for ten years of running the teen side of the sunday school, now having stopped so that she can look after Stephen when he goes out instead, shortly before she went out to do the sunday school again. Short retirement. Hopefully next week I'll be back on duty. Especially as I need to be in and around the art centre tomorrow and tuesday (no choice on either of those dates unfortunately) and I'm still feeling pretty low, physically and emotionally.

It's even odd outside; very sunny yet thunderstorm blustering around as well, which in a way befits the mood. Lots of water and both the kids have been outside puddling (which means getting themselves as wet as is humanly possible, the boots were only there as a prop to catch and squelch water in a more closed setting than the back garden would normally allow).

Loads to do, far more than I feel able to at the distracted moment. Prayers for Jonathon's wife and son would be appreciated, and for our church as well as we all seemed very shocked this morning.
