Today (and the weekend but for various reasons) has been massively disappointing... Todays for one reason alone: I've had to cancel something I was HUGELY looking forward to.
In the next couple of weeks I was aiming to go to the Guildford Diocese Triennial conference in Derby and due to be the artist in residence. It was to be a little tight, time wise, but just about achievable.
And then something else got in the way. An ofsted inspection of the college I work at to be precise. Adding that into the mix meant that friends who were to cover a couple of classes then could not and all ways round it proved impossible to fit in. Ironically I'll be there in some way - the logos I did for the conference have been printed up to 2 metres square and will be shown off around the venue which is very lovely to imagine... It's just that I won't be there to join in with it.
HUGELY sad to think about that. Tried for a few days to work out an alternative but it's just not doable, not without a time machine and a clone factory and, even then, it'd have been a squeeze. Made the phone calls this morning to explain what's happened and the people I spoke to accepted it with a similar amount of sadness and reluctance as I feel.
Sigh...
Very, very, very heavy hearted and footed at the moment :( onwards, just a bit slower than normal.
