been a manic week, utterly horrible at times, strangely odd at others... Have been hyper busy a fair bit over the past few weeks (Christmas shindig at the arts centre coming up on the outside lane to be followed almost instantly by what looks like it will be a pretty large scale lantern festival to follow going all the way into February). In addition college have upped the hours I work there (and still want more yet I always manage to duck my head when people who I know want to corner me walk into any room). So all told things are somewhat painfully full... I do need some time off, and to that end have delegated March and April away at the art centre (well, one session that is but it'll have to do as a start) but that's a while away.
Apart from that? Well, unfortunatley there is nothing apart from that. There's a Sylver 2 review coming up in next months Youthwork which is somewhat nervey as they won't tell me whats in the text so I always anticipate a mauling... Work is just there, always tearing away at my heels, when I get a spare moment I do some writing or painting but those times are few and far between and all told I'm a little maudlin. Occasionally a doorway opens to offere a brief glint of hope to hint that the work that I do (any of it: youthwork, writing, artwork or whatever) has some sort of value but generally the door gets slammed shut or peranantly left ajar with no movement thereafter. Did play a couple of hours of Gears of War at a friends house earlier which was mildly theraputic (well designed game, uber violent which is in ways a shame but cleverly done and not on first play a game that rewards violence which is something) but then got home to find out that son boy had had one of his times and that just made me feel guilty for even escaping for a little while. Have joined a gym, in the hopes of looking less round and being a little more fit. Day 1 left my arms aching like you wouldn't believe... Back there tomorrow and hoping that I can slyly put all of the weights down a notch without anyone noticing...
Wifey went to the funeral of a family member who passed away last week and I stayed at home to look after son, all of us having agreed that that would probably be the better way of proceeding. Daughter got home, changed from school clothes for the family meeting after the service, dashed out in the suitably organised wardrobe, slipped up on a patch of mud and careered straight into a huge puddle. Cue frantic search for next most suitable clothing and slight hold up in the travel plans... Then, when she did arrive with the rest of the family, apparently she got out of the car, walked towards the golf course they were due to meet in and fell into another puddle (well, it had been the most rainy day ever and by that time it was very dark...)
Righto, off to find a video tape for Lost (no way my brain could handle being awake for 2 more hours besides all which, as ever, I have work to be done).
Lastly: someone did a search for the below and ended up with the doo dah I'd written about Torchwood. Go figure.
there are 2 mums and 2 daughter they walk into a fruit store and buy 18 apples and split the between them
