Long time no blog, a little info while my day comes to an end.
Hideously busy at mo. We have an open air gig to cater for for 8 + teenage bands coming up on Dec 9th and the practise/planning/recording sessions and artwork type stuff has been monumentally large a project to do, pretty much soko on my own... There's been help of course, people did the recording sesh and stuff like that, but a lot of the arts centre stuff basically falls on my desk and laughs at my desperate hopes to have a life outside of the lists of things that need doing... Last week, bearing in mind I'm supposed to work just 15 hours at the centre and 15 hours at college, I managed to clock up 40 hours + at the centre which was at turns impressive, demoralising and idiotic... Next week will be similarly manic, hopefully the week after should be a little better.
In different news: it's my birthday next week. It's been soko swallowed up by work (the gig is the day after and that's the ONLY thing on my mind bar a lantern festival that follows it straight after) so people who ask me what I want get a blank look. What I want is twelve hours uninterupted sleep (I've given up on the hope of a holiday). What I would have liked, bearing in mind they were good enough to release it ON my birthday, would have been a Nintendo silly console name. Or Wii as it's more properly known. But that's extremely unlikely as the first shipments are all pre-ordered... So I may get a 360 instead.... Don't know why, there's been so little time to play games that I forget whether I still enjoy them or not, but we'll see.
What else? There was a press day at the arts centre last week for the drama group. UNfortunatley they said something on stage that was a little..... unhelpful shall we say which led to a certain amount of firefighting. Was a smidgeon upsetting as I'd done ten hours overtime to sort things out for them but what the hey... These things happen. Then was in for 6 hours yesterday as bands recorded their Christmas songs which was tiring but the kids did really well...
Hmm anything else? College asked me to go full time a couple of times, I said no or at least not at the mo. Had no time to write eitehr recently although as the past few things Sylver related have been somewhat demoralising maybe the break has been good.... The story in my head still makes me want to write which is good if nothing else... but life is somewhat in the way. There's apaprentley a review of book 2 in an upcoming Youthwork mag which I look forward to seeing.
Apart from that? Not much. Too much work, hardly any down time, havent seen wifey and kids much, looking forward to Christmas. One final puch to get the gig sorted and then things will hopefully calm down a tad.
