Everything that could go wrong....

Youthwork tonight, well, that doesn't narrow it down it's youthwork four nights out of five by and large, but anyhow, youthwork tonight...

Was supposed to be computer art. I went in yesterday to set things up. Then I found out that all of the macs were administrator protected, which I should have known, but no guesses could get me there. Also had a looooong meeting to do with budgets and the next full year plan (read educated guess) at the centre. So: journalism, music x 2, musical theatre, animation, short manga course, photography course and short drama course x 2 to come then. Yayness. Should be fun when things work out.

Anyhow tonight was that sort of a night. The bus was caught in a big traffic jam, yesterdays meeting overran so badly I didn't get the chance to set up enough, computers were uninstallable and all sorts. So in the end we just had a mad, lovely, silly time drawing on the windows with glow in the dark squeezey paints, creating stand up cardboard yaks, all sorts. Nothing that was planned but just loads of fun just for the fun of it.... So sometimes when things go wrong, and that seems to be the norm for the centre at the moment, sometimes the fun that comes out of it can be just as good.

Also started off with a completely new class today doing computer art in Photoshop and Expression (incidentally ANYONE interested in having fun doodling on a computer should go to Wikipedia, type in Creature House Expression, download the freeby demo which is the full package. It's just the most amazing fun to be had and the ONLY art package I use on computer just for the fun of it, as opposed to having to do a job for someone. I bought it for £100 prior to them releasing it for free but what the hey, it's the best art package to play with bar none). They were a good class, a bit chatty (they always are first lesson in, I'll get there with them, but that did wind up the techies who kept blocking specific students computers with messages that said 'be quiet' or whathaveyou. Me, I'm a little bit more leniant, certainly on the first lesson, which I just want to be a lot of fun. Next week is the one where they have to do some of the drudge work as opposed to just playing. Which I know must seem like a possible bad precident to set, but I think the knowledge that the college is there for fun as they learn is a good start. But they were a nice group and I actively look forward to working with them, which is nice. Tomorrow is two classes back to back which are slightly harder, not for personal reasons but the class has no end focus which makes things tricky.

Anyhow: Currently watching: Diddley Squit. Currently playing: Nothing today but would like to start Shadow of the Collosus soon.Currently prayer request: Mums wrist and arm/a little more time please...
