OK so this past couple of weeks has been a little all over the shop. Had two weeks off of work; read desperately trying to claw back some sanity and while that was fun it was also a huge amount of DIY and work and all that. And I couldn't stop myself from going into work a couple of times just to do a couple of small jobs I had to get along to.
Now this week it's been back into the flow of things: college started back, meetings for teh centre that sort of thing. This is there with my determination (broken a number of times already but this time I'm determindly determined) to only do my working hours at the centre rather than the 30+ hours (of a 15 hour role) that I'd been suckered into. That's partially because I'm very behind on my internal hoped for date with Sylver 3 so want to see if I can spend some quality time on it to try and redress the balance.
In addition to that I've got a couple of other projects that are possibly coming up which may well be fascinating to work on, so segmenting time is going to be tougher than ever, this week coming should hopefully let me see just what it is that I'm moving into.
Yesterday had a lovely day out to meet somebody who I've chatted to a few times on an American writers list I subscribe to. She asked for a place to meet up at with the dual intention of researching into a historical Christian pioneer and I suggested Hampton Court palace, partially because the timelines added up and partially because it's just such a lovely place to mooch around. So we had lunch and chatted, well, I mainly chatted but my friends did a lot of listening and nodding at pertinent points, which left me wondering whether I should have asked more questions (mark of a pro y'see I dare say an orange haired egotist with delusions of... Waitaminnit.... Maybe Hampton Court was the correct place to meet after all). Sadly the Chapel was being restored so the ambience of decor and artistry was mixed with the sound of powerdrills and framed by scafolding yet, a week or so later and the chapel itself would have been closed so at least we got to see it even if only at half ... strength? Power? Whatever.
So anyway, lovely lunch, thanks Mitch and Ginger, and lovely company. Then spent a good hour or two checking out the Tapestries (might as well do some research while I was there) and then spent an hour walking around the gardens. Of the formal and the tree garden the tree garden is by far my favourite, then rushed home for youth group.
Y-group was interesting last night because, of all the kids who came, the vast majority, 90% plus my wife noticed, had some sort of educational assistance at school in terms of special provision. Yet it was a remarkably positive, but very noisey, night. So what to make of that I don't know...
Righto, youth groupers att he gates wanting to mow the lawns. May be back but am hoping to polish off a Sylver 3 chapter later and then it's off to the Open the Skies gig in Woking so back soon mayhap, if not back whenever.
