OH YES INDEEDY...!

.. the problem is that I can't say what.. :)

That's really unkind I know, so instead of just teasing I will mention one thing.. Occasionally I feel like the nude emperor (it is emperor isn't it? Hmm thats weird. Empire, Emperious, empress, emporium Emperor.. all with different middles.. odd, although my spellings no gold standard..Anyway tangent off...) and that someone at some point is going to look at my current project (a book) and say well at least he's an artist or some such (or that the emperor has no clothes)... (which may be the reason why the project I did straight after the book was an illustrated book but thats a tangent all of its own).

So anyway I sent out a spam emailer last night (and didn't that take ages! and yes I did feel hugely guilty to be sending spam rather than simply recieving it...but if anyones too cross with me for doing it you can at least console yourself with the fact that yahoo limits you to 20 addresses at any one time with a maximum of 50 within any one hour. As my mailing list was 500 strong- mostly ex-colleagues, youth groupers, youth groupers I've worked with I might add, so not really spam, more an early christmas newsletter- you can at least enjoy the fact that it took flipping ages) and completely coincidentally I recieved in the post this morning the NDCS pledge package that is being sent out to schools in the UK. On page 6 five books are recommended as something encouraging for deaf and non-deaf readers and there I is. Sometimes me bluffing my way through all this seems miles easier than others :)

Did get some more good news as well, as well as a few nice replies :) but for the most part they aren't things you might neccesarily be interested in or things that I can pass on. Ooooh international man of mystery, me. However the reaction I felt was the thing that interested me. The house was empty (for the first time all day I could add, having had four kids to keep my company and a very pleasant trip to Guildford library to keep the older two amused) and rather than phone someone up I just fancied typing this. Odd. But there you go. I also decided to listen to something (a cd had finished playing and I'd carried on working rather than change it, also odd) and because of the change in mood it had to be loud. Yfriday revolution was the sound of choice and the volume was ammended accordingly. Or should that be amended...? That also interested me, the change of mood requiring more volume and theres probably a sermon in that, how attitude and mood can affect actions and stimulatory requirements rather than vice versa. But at the mo I'm supposed to be finishing a short story, booking a room and planning ahead. So sermon planning is off the agenda for the mo (unless you cound this...)

On a different subject my favourite magazine in the whole wide world (Edge magazine: a sort of Wired/National Geographic for computer gamers and the whole wide world being, ahem, the UK because I'm not aware of what mags there are elsewhere...) has a new issue out tomorrow, just in time for me to take it and read it on the train. That's very nice of them and I feel suitably appreciative. Sometimes it's the little things that make me smile.
