Bizarre Christian analogy ahoy.

Ok so may have mentioned I'm a computer gamer of old. From the Atari 2600 and as many carts as I could play or hire through to my current favo's on Xbox, GC, GBA and (to a certain extent) PS2 computer gaming is a big part of my life. I enjoy all sorts of aspects of it, but primarily I would guess the graphical side. At the mo' I'm playing Halo (in anticipation of the sequel, due out next week), Wario Ware, Mario Sunshine and Beyond Good and Evil.. Funnily enough I didn't rush out to buy GTA San Andreas and don't wish to anytime in the future...(and when I say playing I mean 5 hours a week or so, not huge amounts of time here..)

Anyhow mostly have been playing huge amounts of Wario Ware on the GBA. Specifically this game:

Now the thought struck me playing it earlier that it's a simple message, easily passed on. The replayability and interest comes from the fact that the simple message is so pure, enjoyable and fun. So anyway the analogy is this: simple message, not mucked about with, not ellaborated and updated or reimagined or remixed. Just the pure and simple game, which is and was beautiful in its simplicity.

Sometimes I take the Christian message and, in trying to communicate it to someone I don't know, or someone who I don't think would neccesarily be interested in the core truth I blather and blah and add and flail around hoping to ignite a spark of interest. Actually sometimes I do that, sometimes I don't. But to remain true to the core message and communicate that, without putting my own personal judgement on the audience, seems to me the most important thing, the thing that I would want to do the best if I could. I had wondered about what the core truth I would want to communicate would be.. I was going to suggest Jesus saves as one way of putting it. However the final words I wrote in the book were I'm not telling anyone how God works, just that God works. I still kind of like that way of putting it..
