Easy up easy down this past week...trying to pysche myself up for a new round of applying for jobs and pushing the book and doing freelance art and all that but sometimes I just feel really tired and ideally want something to drop in my lap. Actually i don't neccesarilly want that but would be happy if some of the huge amounts of pitching work I've done recently would come through..
Had what could be described as a bad youthwork week last week. First off found out that the group that meets after us had not neccesarily locked the windows afterwards. Someone had snuck in after group and raided the cupboard that we use to store our tuckshop. When I got the call it sounded very serious.. When I got to the church hall it turned out that the kid or kids unknown hadn't taken that much and had been remarkably restrained... When faced with £40s worth of tuck + a cd player + etc all they'd taken was £2 of tuck... They'd thrown the cushions around as well, but that was it. TBH I know I should be cross over the lack of security, but I was more relieved than anything else.. I'm pretty sure I know the four kids responsible and the fact that the damage was so slight for some reason made me feel better.
Then, on friday, we had a couple of kids, brothers, come to the group and cause pandemonium.. Their list of misdemeanors included (but was not limited to): swearing, playing football agressively, playing the piano when asked not to and then when they had been spolen to and asked to clean up their act, throwing a pool ball at someones head, spraying a can of coke over me, stealing one kids jumper and throwing it into the trees outside.. The list goes on, they haven;t been invited back... All told I could have been in a better mood afterwards...
Finished Halo 2. The end is.. interesting. Shan't spoil it for anyone but.. but.. Well.. it's a bit.. Hmm. Tricky. I felt like it was missing a final chapter, but I assume that Halo 3 will be a launch title on the Xbox 2 and that I and many others will pick it up to see what the final score is. I wanted to love it. I think I did. Still think Cortana's a fox :)
Have an appaling cold/throat bug atm. Bit of a temperature, throat hurts, eyes are a bit stingy, very snotty. Going to walk to the sorting office to apply for a temp christmas job and then a rest methinks...
Currently listening to: U2: best of 1990 to 2000. Currently finished: Halo 2.....Dunno what to say about that really....
