On the subject of pads...

OK so got two pads for my birthday... One, a slab of plain paper insufficiently glued onto its binding.. The other a beautiful hand made pad by a local company. Everything about the pad is lovely.. The colour of the cover a rich, deep green. The paper, made from sustainable bark mulch, has a soft, smooth, warm feeling as well as a grain that adds to the prettiness and flavour of the pad... I've used it three times so far.

That said...The paper on the nicest pad is untustworthy. Sometimes it can accept pen and wash perfectly, giving me the colour and line that I expect.. Occasionally the paper has some sort of slight oily patch. It doesnt affect the look of it all but at some points the colour and paint will wash away from the places I want it to stay in..The paper in the less nicely covered pad is smooth and I know where it'll lead me...

Whether theres a message in all this, or I'm just making excuses for the state of the pictures I've done in this pad you can decide :) Added one piccy here, couple more to come...

I do realise, incidentally and tangentally, that I'm chatting about a lot of stuff except Dr Sylver and the Library of Everything...Shall try and remedy that soon as well...

Currently listening to: Radio 5: Aston Villa v Birmingham. Not that I follow either side, but I'm enjoying the commentary nonetheless.... Currently watching: Lord of the Rings: Return of the King Extended Edition...
