The first computer art program I fell in love with was D Paint on the Amiga (and conversely the first which broke my heart was D Paint on the Atari ST).

(Madge 2d pixel art from my oldest version of a website....)

But it wasn't until I found Photoshop v3.3 LE that I found something that blew my mind.

and of course 3.3LE has led to where we are now with the CS and CC versions which offer the power to create all sorts of strange pictures and images.

iMac, CS4.

CS5 on iMac and Promethean IWB. Video here.

That was a while ago. Since then I've found a number of art packages that I've worked with on a range of platforms but, like a constant, Photoshop has always been there, getting more powerful and more interesting and now, (nearly in the same way), more mobile.

This week I was lucky enough to be invited, with my tablet art and graphics students to be a part of the London leg of the Adobe Creative Days world wide roadshow... It was an EXCELLENT showcase of talent and tech and my small part of it was to draw through the day on Adobe mobile art apps in as near to real time as I could and tweet the pictures as I did.

The stage. iPad and Eazel app.

@Richardjobson speaking on his influences and imaginings as a filmmaker. iPad and Photoshop Touch.

Nick Danziger speaking about his long and important history as a photographer of all aspects that the world can deliver. iPad and Ideas app.

@Beteljase crowd surfing. iPhone + Ideas.

The effortlessly able David McClelland in one of his brief moments of introducing people on stage.

@RufusD in a Muse moment. iPad and Photoshop Touch.

All culminating in a Cloud driven rocky end to the day:

(no idea why. My mind was mush by this point :) )

Couldn't resist a few pics too:

The Creative Days poster and a bronze statue in the venue. iPhone and Astro Media close up lens.

More pics available on the Flickr stream. The day definitively did the job for me - I wanted to be back on my computer drawing as soon as I could, and I say that as a tablet aficionado, and I look forward, as I always do, to seeing what Adobe come up with next.

And, ahem, I do look forward to test driving a Project Mighty pen. You know, just sayin' :)

Will blog later about the students side of it but they did me and the college proud, as they always do.
