The problem with scams is when something is urgent and sounds like it is one....

OK this is a quicky because a: I've had a rollercoaster of a youth group night and b: trying to type quiet so as not to wake wifey..

Went to a community lunch today and had a visit from the local health visitor, thinking about it it was the nurse that looked after wifey when she was pregnant with both of my kids

Anyway she asks for help with something thats becoming a major prob for her:

One of the single mums in her care is 18, with a baby born with Cerebal Palsy. The kid has been accepted for an intensive course of treatment at the Bobath centre in Finchley at the beginning of March. So far so good, apparently its a great place for help and has a heck of a waiting list. Prayer at the time would be good of course.

Anyhow the placement all revolves around the provision of hotel accomodation, which hasn't been agreed, the relevant people have said that the most they'd spring for is a travel allowance but it sounds totally unsuitable for the situation if I'm understanding the situation correctly. The centre is keeping the place open for a time, but unless the girl can be found a place to stay it's going to get cancelled which seems heartbreaking.

Anyhow: I said I'd put a message out (other people had suggestions as well, getting a local taxi firm to sponsor it or whatever...) but it just seems like a wonderful opportunity for God's love to be tangiably shown.

So please, if anyone is invoved with a church in or around East London please can you ask around on sunday or sooner. The principle need is for a place to stay for the girl and her baby for two weeks in March (not the weekends), but obviously if a group were to be able to get together and organise lifts and anything else that would be another huge weight of pressure lifted... Any help available please email me and try and work out some details between you and the health visitor.

Tired now, been a whole heck of a day...

Tangentally: posted about the book on a computer games forum that I'm remarkably fond of. For the most part they were hugely positive and encouraging about the whole thing, which surprised me hugely (generally threads that mention anything about Christianity tend to get shot down in flames). Admittedly someone said that talk about Christian fiction made him want to go out and burn books (the irony of which made me laugh out loud) it made me smile hugely all over again....
