Lovely day, lovely day....

Yesterday was busy and lovely, but not in that order. Woken up by five year old alarm clock at 6 am, up at 7 when said alarm clock wouldn't stop playing, train station at 9.30, London at 10.50.

Went to sung Eucharist at St Paul's Cathedral. Really beautiful service. Cool choir and there were a couple of kids in front of me that kept smiling back after I'd shared the piece with them first, and then their parents. Had to duck out slightly early to arrive at Talking Hands Fellowship at 1. I say this because people could assume that, reading Dr Sylver book 1, that I'm not a friend of the Cathedral. I am, very much so, I think it's a very beautiful and awe inspiring building. Several things came together to make sure I couldn't do as much with St Paul's as I had wanted to in book 1, not least the fact that I wanted to set up something in books 2 and 3. Expect a little more of St Paul's to come, believe me. And hopefully something that can be seen as positive, although... positive and fair... We'll see. I'm a friend though.

Got to the THF thing at Friends house (which is the big Quaker building on Euston Road) and it was absolutely wonderful. Makes me wish I could sign because to be in a room with thirty or so people all signing to each other and beaming out the most radiant smiles this side of Mount Zion was an entrancing way to spend a hot and sunny Sunday afternoon. Very tired by the end of it, due to too much smiling and concentrating trying to work out what was happening where and occasionally trying to join in with the signing during the mostly signed hymn singing. Sounds odd possibly, but was a wonderful time. Got to speak about the book, and as always felt a mixture of fraud and snake oil salesman while speaking. I do love mentioning that the book exists if people want to use it as a resource, then always feel guilty when people say they'll buy it.. Not because it's not good (he said, egotistically :~) ) but because I wish I could just hand copies out to people to read and pass on. I can't though, although I did give Debs a free copy to thank her for inviting me up.

Have to dash now, wish I could say more about that but I'm up against it today with a couple of hard deadlines... Did manage to write a chapter or two over the weekend, which was nice and I hope they're good :) but by far the best thing was the spending of time with the deaf fellowship.

Currently listening to: Alison Moyet: Voice. Currently playing: Finished level 14 of Advance Wars yesterday which had been churning my indides I can tell you.Current socks being worn: Grey Hike socks with green text. Dull as dullness really but they were the first ones I found. Currently reading: Finished Skeleton Key. 'twas OK but not the big thing I was neccesarily expecting. No Time like Show Time by Michael Hoeye is absolutely cracking though, book three of the Hermux Tantamoq adventures and an absolute delight... Loved it to pieces and read it in a very happy few hours.
