First day in...

OK so apart from anything else I'm stinkingly busy. To wit:

Working at the moment organising the Guildford Book Festival's opening shindig, timed to coincide with the Big Draw doo-dah on October 15th. Cue phone calls a go-go to local (doing well on that score) or well known artists (doing badly there), producing several theme pictures to explain what's going to be going on and the rest. Lots done, lots still to do. Should be a massive amount of fun, we'll be participating in making the biggest book of the book festival* in a wide and lovely variety of art materials.

First day into the new regime as Youth Arts Worker for my local council, training (they want me to get a nationally recognised youthwork certificate to go along with my fifteen or so years of bluffing it and I'm not complaining) begins next week and following a three hour meeting today the scope just seems rather large shall we say. Line manager I is, and that's a pretty big undertaking. Expect subsequent postings to start with the letter aaaargghhhhh.

Book 2.. Sigh, where to start. It's just such a delicate balancing act, the middle of a trilogy**. So far the readers have come back positive and almost all of them have said very helpful and excellent comments. But there's still a few comma's to add and typo's to fix and all told it seems so much to do in such a little time... Still hoping for Christmas, and the sequel for the christmas the yearafter... Hoping and praying.

Prayer answers, from finding kids school uniforms (I'm not kidding, you should see our house, finding anything at the time its needed can easily be classified as a miraculous event), to getting an encouragement when one was sorely needed (check out the latest reader review on Amazon.co.uk for the what it was). Things are, at times, very good indeed. Met new vicar and wife yesterday, looking forward to the installation and whatever happens next.

Hmm owt else? Very hot, going outside to carry on reading. Piccies of something new to come, if that's of any interest to you...

Oh yea! Forgot to say: lovely wifey bought me a DS, sortof kindof. Basically I'd sold a number of computer game mags and done a couple of birthday cards and sold some cds and the like in the hope that the money would go on a DS fund or something like that. In the end the money all got squirreled away onto kids shoes and stuff.. Anyhow £30 was left and wifey used some of her birthday money to pay for the rest. Not only was very pleased (of course) but felt immensley guilty (natch, not good at accepting nice things, me) but absolutely positively in love with the machine. Could only afford to get zoo Keeper (came with it) and Feel the Magic (£6 second hand) but let's face it, what a couple of corking games...

Currently listening to: 100hours: Stronger.Current socks being worn: Bart Simpson 'Whatever' socks.Currently playing: Feel the Magic. Top, top toppedy top game.

*by size if nothing else.
**Well, we'll see on that score. Possible trilogy, whatever.
