Hi all,
Happy Christmas belatedely, Merry New Year and all that. Been busy like a flump. Family all over the place and all of that present thing happening as well... Then there were the booklets (did well ish, nowhere near the school sadly, but well anyway and I'm just trying to raise the energy levels to see if I can go for a second push...) that took a huge share of time when I had little to split.
But was lovely. One tough moment was our first reaction to daughter on Christmas morn. That could have gone better all ways round.
Basically, Rosie couldn't get to sleep... Nothing was helping so wifey and I were trying to stay awake so that we could put a present at the end of her bed. Anyway, she won in the end. We both dozed off while reading books and then, at 12.01 precisely, daughter walked into our room and sung, not particularly quietly, 'We wish you a Merry Christmas' waking us both up to a start. We both said something like 'DON'T WAKE YOUR BROTHER UP` because once he's awake, he's awake, generally, and she went back to her bedroom in tears. So we picked her up again, gave her a cuddle, said sorry and night night and then she was asleep in minutes.
Christmas morning mark 2 went much better, bar the hour long delay when I went out to the radio station to be interviewed about the booklets, although they were never mentioned, and when it finally happened had a lovely brekky with the kids and the family....
Odd, but then again, that's normal :)
