Brief recap of the week:

Ha! look at me. No energy to do much but rant... Had put this at the end but moved it to the top where it should be. Aaaaanyhow, was going to come on here and mention that Rob Lacey has sent out another prayer message: He's currently suffering from a kidney infection and a stomach bug to go along with everything else that needs prayer so thought I'd pass it on. There's me getting sidetracked from something that's miles more important. For Rob and his family please do keep him in mind now, up to the release of his next book: the Liberator (which i think was March, but haven't seen a release date recently) and afterwards as well.

Back to inconsequentials in comparison: The week so far:

Monday up at 6 to get ready for train to Plymouth. Arrived at noon and went straight into working, couple of hours off at 5, then out to a (very lovely) meal which was part working part socialising, tuesday creating a mockup cover for something (obviously my newly found reputation as having delivered the worst book cover in the world :) is getting me places) and then on a train to Guildford, bus back home, 20 minutes there before bus to work from 6.30 - 10. Back home, then the next day teaching at college (hard morning that one, students in a bit of a funk over many things) then back home to deliver final cover version to publisher who was so late for the meeting had to greet him in passing before I was off to the next meeting, sons school appraisal, sigh, before dashing out of that one to go to (you guessed it) work from 5 - 10 last night. It was a rehearsal for the Uproar concert on Feb 15th at the H G Wells centre, however, when the people running it said they'd be having pizza they were quite correct. I was working in the office upstairs and only found out I hadn't been included in that until they were on the last couple of slices. Ah well, I guess it's God's way of telling me to eat less.

Book 2 goes off to print today.

Me, personally, I haven't got the energy for anything now. I'm sitting at home trying to get something printed out for a meeting directly after my sign language class and tbh I can't seem to raise the energy for either. Then there's a meeting with someone tomorrow and again that's going to be something that's tough to get myself worked up for... Which is tricksome as now that the book is all but off* I'm supposed to be gearing myself up to sending it off all places for reviews and comment and the rest... But that takes time and enthusiasm (and a certian amount of being able to accept that 10% of the things I send out will be replied to if I'm lucky) and today that's running low. Wouldn't mind so much but many other little things are going all over the place in the background. Tetchy emails from people who I haven't replied to in the hour, or haven't replied to messages that I have not previously seen (yeah, that works), hostility from students who're projecting their unhappiness about life onto me because I'm not going to shout back or trying to help in the first place, recording the Superbowl to watch and then finding that wifey's blanked it accidentally... (no-one recorded it out there in Minteynetville did they? I mean, I found out who won the next morning which was a bit gutting, but still would have loved to watch it).

Big Sigh. But there are positives... The book does go off today, that's pretty cool and exciting. Soon see what the cover looks like on anything bar my monitor and the people I sent it off to for comment. Then I can move onto the next two projects that I'll be working on back to back (one written - one drawn) ready to take one of them, if not a couple, off to the London Book Show in... April? Can't remember. CBC in end Feb as well, that should be exciting. Just so tired. But the days just started. Just had a text from a friend I've not seen in a long time to ask if I want to meet up and that should be really nice...

Righto, onwards, apologies for ranting :) Many things on the list to tick so may as well get to it.

Currently listening to: The sound of keyboard keys being hit too hard in a bit of a tetch. Currently playing: Gripshift. Stuck on trying to get a high score on the handbrake level but apart from that: Still a top game. Current socks being worn: Didn't look. That's how tired I am... After a certain amount of research I can conform that they're Wallace on red splash on black socks. Currently prayer requests: For RL and fam. For students who need understanding and that I'll be able to help.

* Still trying to work out the book cover. The publisher wants something quite traditional and I want something that's a little more contemporary and at the moment we've got 6 or so variations, none of which will end up on the cover but many of which may end up on the blog when I can look back on all this and laugh.
