All over place tonight. Work upon work and watched film in the background...
Film was Franklyn which, I'm more than happily surprised to say, was far beyond my expectation. The trailer, which I've spoken about before, promised a lorry load of inelegant theft - a collage of a hundred films you've seen before at the very least. The film was gentle and delicate and paced and surprising. Beautifully delivered and not your standard Hollywood fare, despite being marketed that way. Impressive stuff, more so on the budget they must have worked towards which showed rarely.
Also: why are there so many spiders about at the moment? And biggies (well, large middle-eys) too. Shudder.
Last also: we've been told at work that we have to raise standards with less money, resources and staff. We will get supported, apparently, although support generally seems to come under the description of gentle threats, and all told the inspirational meeting today didn't. Well. We did meet.
Tired now, two classes and a meeting tomorrow so really should sleep. Onwards, this time to snooze. Am trying to balance Sylver work with Book Draw stuff with life in general, which is tricksome. If anyone's got any brilliant ideas on how to market an adventure book for teens which brings in elements of real world troubles and ways in which to escape them I'm all ears as my cup definitely runneth emptyish tonight...
