Not been the best of weeks all told:
To wit - two contracts cancelled within two days, both ones that I had been looking forward to working on in a big way (one was the CD cover one was a different project), issues at the arts centre that required double my working hours (again) and put me in the situation where I had to let a group down at the last minute on something and I hate doing that... Other stuff as well, just been a terrible week.
That said, this week... Hopefully, this week will be better: got to be an optimist eh? Firstly have a big youth group gig to finalise preperations for and that was one of the very few bright spots of last week, seeing how some of the organisations had gone and how little we'd have to transport from one venue (the arts centre) to the gig venue.
Apart from that son boys leg has pretty much fully healed now, that's a good point, and daughter is going for a sleepover tonight and already too excited :) So probably should not let the cancelled contracts get to me too much, maybe it was a bit early for them for me in a way - well, not the cd cover but I was surprised myself at the direction that had been asked for so I guess when they changed direction I should not have been too shocked, but thursday and friday were a bit bleak all ways round. Add to that a couple of staffing issues and one youthwork issue that has caused a lot of heartache and I was not a happy bunny for the majority of the latter part of the week. Plus I did a days training on something that, while excellent on paper, also asks for a massive commitment of time which I don't even know if I have the time to give as much as anything else...
Couple of other positives though. Saw a good friend on saturday and the church put a team into the Guildford Raft Race (pictures to follow) which was ace and they managed to do the whole course. Then caught up with one of my students who works in one of the cafes in Gford and had a really nice chat. So some good positives there. See? I'm trying I really am. Count your blessings one by one etc. Can't quite shake the feeling that the two things that were cancelled would have been lovely and sometimes I get a little tired of things (friday for example: into town first thing to organise some concert things, then straight back to help at my daughters school fete and then straight off from that to run youth group. On a long hot day that was not the optimum list of things to be doing).
Currently listening to: Silence. Odd that. Currently playing: juggling chaos. Current socks being worn: None. Too hot. Currently prayer requests: For gig on tuesday. For Sandra, Lukas and Magdelena.
