Another review :) and another nice one at that...

Dr Sylver is a very special librarian who has been given a mission on earth. Dr Sylver and the Repository of the Past is the second story following a group of friends as they learn about, and sometimes struggle with, friendships, school, and spirituality. It follows on from the first book in the series, Dr Sylver and the Library of Everything, and is the same gripping mix of fact and fantasy. The books don't shy away from tackling some difficult issues, some of the themes running through both titles include bullying, teenage pregnancy and eating disorders. However, what draws me to the books is the authors fascinating interpretation of spiritual warfare in a school. There is also Charlotte, a lead character who is profoundly deaf. Her character is well researched and her friends, teachers and readers alike learn many lessons about deafness and communication along the way. Charlotte is a great deaf role model in teenage literature. To use the ‘page-turner' cliché, Dr Sylver is so enjoyable you can't wait to find out what will happen next. The books style is easy to read and I can recommend it to all ages from about 11.
