Had an unanticipated bus journey today and, despite the fact I've got a fair amount of freelance pitch work on at the moment, this brushes painting came out of it. I had no plan at the start, just started doodling lines to see where they would go and, half way through, I knew what I wanted it to be. Hey, it's cheap therapy...
Funnily enough when you can see a picture being made you can see the things you would change. I'm hoping that watching the process is making me a better artist as I go. Hope so anyhow. Funnily enough, thinking in training mode, this feels like a continuation of a picture I did... 20 years ago (? just less than, just) one of my first computer images and so obviously inspired by classic Lucasarts adventure games:
Both images a bit grotty, sorry, although that is a little in keeping with the source material. It reminds me of one of my favourite chapter titles in Dr Sylver book 1: The Ordinary Beautiful. If I'd thought of it in time I think I would have renamed these files the Beautiful Unpleasant or something. Hey ho.
