I had a much better swimming lesson today - I can just about do breast stroke, but the teacher made us do HARD THINGS. Although I can't be too nasty to her as she lost a diamond out of her engagement ring, probably on the poolside - on Valentine's Day too. Poor girl.
We avoided soppiness mainly in our household, though there was a very sweet fairy cake waiting on my breakfast table, and I made some heart-shaped muffins in a silicone muffin tin I bought at the weekend. But it's choir tonight, and I'm not sure if we are singing the somewhat-depressing Byrd Mass or the raunchy madrigals.
Currently reading: Stig of the Dump. I've bought a few Puffin first editions of books I loved as a child, inspired by a 50th anniversary boxed set a friend has. They are pretty cheap so even if I fill up all the shelves with my collecting habit, it won't be too expensive, I don't think!
