We have just been on a lovely holiday - hot (though that was good, and one of my criteria for where to go on holiday), lots of lovely food, and we are already planning when we can go back. We highly recommend the Côte d'Azur. A refreshing change after our July fiasco. We went via a Ship wedding and got the train all the way from our corner of the NW to the S of France - on Friday we stepped on the TGV at 9.35 a.m. and got off the Virgin train at 10.40 p.m. I think the worst bit was crossing Paris, to be honest.
