Reading material while I was away:
Carter Beats the Devil - Glen David Gould - amusing and interesting, very well written - Houdini type in San Francisco in the early 20th century - fictional but based on real person.

How to Lose Friends and Alienate People - Toby Young - British journalist tries to make it among the beautiful people of New York. Does give the average girl hope that maybe someone wants to go out with real women rather than Sarah Jessica Parker.

Portrait in Sepia - Isabel Allende - I do like her stuff - historical enough to be interesting, magical enough to be captivating, but readable enough not to bore you!

A Churchless Faith - Alan Jamieson - very readable and one of those books where you go YES that's ME!
