Well I still have a cough (having had one for about 10 days now) but I also have a hangover today. It's all my cousin's fault for getting married. I have many many cousins (11 at the last count, one is due on Dec 12th) and there are 4 adult unmarried ones and 4 children (so far) so I look forward to the prospect of many more hangovers. Also since one of the unmarried adults and all of the children are related to my dad, I look forward to many more occasions on which my mother and my father's new partner have to coexist in the same room.
Oh joy.
Fortunately my brother is sensible enough not to invite father's-new-partner to his wedding in February so I will only have the hangover.
I didn't go to Swahili church today even though it's only once a month and I can't go next month and if it's anything like a normal New Year, the month after either... but I couldn't face coughing my way through yet another public event... the opera on Friday with people giving me The Look (of course I cough for my own entertainment)... the wedding yesterday when of course I was dying to cough just when he says "is there anyone who knows of any reason..."
