Fabulous! Amazing! Superlative!

The play was wonderful. I'd seen it before but I can't help raving about it again.

It was a South African version of the medieval mystery plays i.e. crucial bits of the bible dramatised in a very down to earth way for people who couldn't necessarily read. They use Zulu, Xhosa, and Afrikaans as well as English. It is fun, sad, hilarious, exciting, and all the emotional words I can possibly think of. If you don't find yourself moved by boring old bible stories, you need to go now.

Go! Go now! It is the eleventh commandment (actually I nicked that bit from Time Out). It wasn't full when we went but when it was in the West End it was pretty much sold out. It is also pretty suitable for older children (obviously there's a bit of violence and nakedness, this is the Bible remember!).

No, I don't get a commission.
But if you want to see it it's called The Mysteries (or something impenetrable in Zulu) and is on at Wilton's Music Hall (near Aldgate tube) until the end of the year. Go now! Go twice!
