training!

OK, it's time to get serious. The big bike ride (about 40 miles) is a month away and I need to do some training.

I hope the ride is not too hilly (it follows the Manchester Ship Canal for most of the route, and, as has been pointed out to me, canals have a problem going up hills) so I am concentrating on putting miles under my wheels rather than trying to get up hills. I may need to go a bit further afield as I think I've done all the roads between us and the coast, and everything inland is a bit hilly!

I would love you all to sponsor me but the charity that I'm doing it for (http://www.medequip4kids.org.uk/) does not yet have a link on justgiving.com. So, if you want to pledge, leave your email and amount in a comment and I'll hold you to it later, OK?

Currently reading: the last few pages of Frost on my Moustache. I need some reading recommendations, folks! What have you read that I haven't (OK, I know that's a bit hard to come up with since a) I've read everything and b) you don't know what I have read!)? What have you read that you liked?
