What do people think about dreams? Can they be a representation of your subconscious? If you have a really bizarre and twisted dream, is it silly to read into it and dissect a meaning? Kinda like Joseph did with the fat and slim cows? Although I don't think I'm about to save a country from eight years of famine.
I'm not going to go into the details here, but I recently had a rather disturbing dream. When I woke up, I thought I could see a clear meaning and understanding to it. A clear connection between it and events that had recently happened in my life. I told several friends about this dream. The general reaction was "that is really BIZARRE" and "I think you're reading too much into it" when I described my interpretation.
You see, I think that dreams can represent your subconscious. There was a time, a year or two ago when I was trying to deal with a lot of anger and big forgiveness issues. Except I hadn't dealt with it, I'd pushed all the anger down inside of me and tried to carry on as normal. I don't like being angry, so it was my bodies natural reaction at the time. During that period I had a number of dreams where the anger was very apparent, even though in real life it wasn't surfacing. It wasn't until a good friend worked through the anger and enabled forgiveness, that I was free of these dreams.
This latest dream wasn't like the others. It wasn't angry. But to me, it seemed to have a hidden meaning, which knowing my recent life history, seemed clear to me. But is it silly to read too much into dreams?
