BTW - ERG stands for Excited Rainbow Girl, SRG stands for Scared Rainbow Girl - right Nessa ;)

I went to see the fireworks show at St. Pauls tonight and was reminded of the fact that I really don't like fireworks. I like looking at them (especially rainbow coloured ones!) but the BIG BANGS are really loud and scary. At home, my church often has a small display, and I usually stay inside and look after all the little children who are too scared to go outside (except one year when all the kids decided that they were big and brave enough to go outside - I was really disappointed cos I didn't have a good excuse to stay inside!). I don't think my fear of fireworks is helped by the fact that, being brought up in inner-city Manchester, most of my experiences of fireworks have been when teenagers are being irresponsible with them in the street. Umm, yeah, I have had a couple of close encounters involving teenager boys and lit fireworks.

Anyway, I went along tonight, with friends, and I survived. With my fingers over my ears and occasionally hiding my face from sight, I did actually quite enjoy it. Part of what made it a good evening was the amount of friends, in particular wiblogger friends, who were there. I even met someone, who has commented on my blog, but I had only previously known, through other people. We had a bizzare conversation - we kinda knew each other already, but not really.

Being scared of fireworks, I've discovered, can actually be a good thing. I was so nervous of the fireworks, that it meant I wasn't thinking/worrying about all the complicatedness that had gone on during the day. Brilliant friends around me definately also helped - thanks guys!

oh! - before i disappear off to bed, does anyone know a name/descriptive word, for a coat (or item of clothing) which has loads pockets, each of which contain very useful and 'being prepared' random things? My friends were laughing at me (or with me) because I said "oh! wow! Becky's coat is great - its got lots of stuff in it, its like...... something with lots of stuff in it..." I'm sure there is a word to describe it. I just couldn't (and still can't) think what it is.
