Presentations

Today I had my dreaded group presentation. It has been a soruce of stress this week, due to a disorganised group and not really having enough time after placement to get together. But anyway, we did it first thing this morning, and it went well. We got positive feedback from the lecturer, as a group. Individually, she told me that i'd done well and showed good potential as a teacher (argh!), though my nerves did come across - I said 'umm' a lot (but I do that anyway!).

Our presentation was first this morning, which meant that I've spent the rest of the day listening to everyone elses. I was very impressed with some of the imaginative ideas that people had come up with to get their point across. Our group used laminated pictures of foods and got the students to classify them accordingly (we were doing childhood nutrition), but that was nothing compared to the other groups. We had baby food tasting sessions (yuck!), clips from 'Friends' videos, balloons being popped (to demonstrate the ideal eradication of diseases) and a baby doll being moisturised and bandaged from head to toe! It really was quite enjoyable listening to all the other presentations - especially as I didn't have to worry about ours anymore!
