As most readers will probably know, I have a slight obsession with rainbows. Well, I was thinking the other day, and decided that many of my moods could be described using the colours of the rainbow.
Red, is obviously anger. Those of you who know me well, will know I don't often turn red, but when I do it can be quite bad. I only show red with people I know very well - I once agreed with a housemate that it was a positive sign of friendship, if we could get angry at each other!
Orange, in my opinion, is for when I'm in a loud, extroverted mood - very excited. I was definately orange up until midnight on new years eve. I quite often have some orange showing, but to be fully orange, is usually at a party, or some other special occasion. My voice has a tendensy to get very loud - please feel free to tell me to quieten down!
Yellow, is my quiet, blending into the background, mood. People who met me at the wibmeet at Greenbelt last year, saw me in a yellow mood. It tends to happen in new, unfamiliar situations. It doesn't happen much around my friends, and when it does, they all think somethings wrong. It can mean somethings wrong, but not always, so don't worry!
Green - now this for me, symbolises when I'm being neutral. Switzerland. Sitting on the fence. I often feel like I'm green. Its probably because I don't like being red.
Blue, is for when I'm sad. I try, obviously, not to be sad much. But when situations and events occur, its impossible not to be blue. Blue will usually follow red.
Indigo. Personally, is a colour for when you feel like nobody appreciates you. When you feel like you've been taken for granted. Nobody ever takes much notice of indigo in the rainbow. But, if indigo is missing in a rainbow, then people notice - something is wrong, missing. Sometimes I feel like nobody appreciates the time and effort I put in. Like, I don't have a big enough role to play to be missed. But its that presense, those little things, that would be missed. I hope.
Purple. Purple is my favourite colour. For me, its when I'm happy. Content. Probably a little excited too. I try to be purple as much as possible. But with life moving so fast, situations changing, its not always possible.
I would definately say that I tend to change colour frequently, as many people do. And obviously, not every emotion is covered in my mood rainbow. I can think of one day recently, when within 24 hours I went something like: purple, orange, yellow, blue, indigo, green, blue, indigo, red, blue, yellow. Umm, yeah, that was stressful. The good news is, at the moment, I'm mainly purple - its not often as simple as one colour.
Update: Just thought - I'm kinda like an iguana. My colour changes, depending on my surroundings.
