Anger and Forgiveness

I've just got back from leading a bible study about anger. Planning and leading this prompted me to remember a particular occasion in the past, when I was angry. I was the first to arrive and as I was waiting for everyone to arrive, I thought about some of the things that this person had done. My instinctive reaction was a small spark of anger. But I thought I had forgiven this person. Can you forgive someone, but still get angry when you remember stuff? I mean, we're friends and its fine. I thought I had dealt with it all - I did my best to protect myself from being hurt again in the future, but I still thought I had forgiven this individual. Is a small amount of anger when memories take you to bad places, still allowed? Or does it mean I've not properly forgiven them?
