ESRC frustrations

Somehow I suspect a theme may emerge in the next couple of weeks leading up to the submission of my application.

Anyway.

I've downloaded their application form (the ESRC, for those who aren't following, is the funding body I hope will pay me throughout my PhD assuming that I am accepted, she says getting a bit ahead of herself). The opening sentence on the form reads thusly:

"Candidates should read the document 'ESRC Postgraduate Studentships in the Social Sciences: Guidance notes for Applicants 2005' before completing this form and be willing to abide by the conditions and regulations it contains."

At the end of the form, one of the declarations I have to sign is "I have read and I agree to abide by the conditions set out in the 'ESRC Postgraduate Studentships in the Social Sciences: Guidance Notes for Applicants 2005.'"

Now, I would absolutely love to read and abide by the conditions and regulations of this document. I suspect it will come in very handy for my application. However, I have this evening trawled the entire ESRC website, and can I find it anywhere? Gah.

If anybody knows where on that ****** website the Guidance Notes for Applicants is (Chalky? Tractor Girl?) please please please could you put me out of my misery? Frankly I've got much better things to be doing with my Saturday evening than nearly crying with frustration at academic bureaucrats who clearly couldn't organise a you-know-what in a you-know-where.

I SO need a bar of chocolate and a glass of wine. When's Easter, again?
