This afternoon I did a late shift at the hospice, and for the first time since I started working there I had to do the dreaded, the terrible, the stomach-churning task from the pits of hell:

I had to sort out false teeth. Twice. Aaaaargh, I could have handled blood and sick and sputum and poo, anything but the teeth. Those disgusting bits of food floating to the top of the water. Those dismembered teeth looking up at me and seeming to laugh menacingly. I almost expected them to leap out and start chattering by themselves, like those clockwork teeth. Ugh, I feel sick just thinking about it.

That's I guess another reason to be grateful I'm a health visitor most of the time. It's not always great, it's sometimes messy, but at least I never have to deal with false teeth. *shudder*
