Diary of a detox diet - day 3

Breakfast: Same as yesterday, but with an apple. The apple was hard work - it's taking a while to get into this fresh fruit business, so I don't think I'll be bothering with any of the breakfast smoothie recipes and will stick to cereal. But the muesli and rice milk is actually rather nice - I'm not having to brace myself for it like I thought I might have to.
Lunch: rice cakes, plus salad of tomatoes, cucumber, beetroot, yellow pepper and carrot sprinkled with seeds. Followed by a banana and an apricot.
Dinner: Quinoa pilaf, which was just as good reheated. Followed by a kiwi fruit and some grapes, and then a big handful of seeds.
Drinks: Only one cup of camomile, it was all I could bear.
Today's Exercise: does ironing count? Not that I've done any, but I will later.
Good thing about today: A client telling me I'd lost lots of weight from last time she'd seen me. And the scales telling me I've already lost the Wightmeet 3lbs.
Number of chocolate cravings: 0, hooray. I do have one more Easter egg hidden in the spare room though, so have decided to have it for breakfast on day 29 :)
Side effect du jour: I woke up with a headache again, but got rid of it easily enough. The other side effect I think comes under the classification of "Too Much Information" and will probably only be of interest to the person who has now found my blog twice by searching on "poo analysis".

Thanks to everyone who's commented and encouraged. For the doubters - the main meals are delicious, and there's absolutely tons of it (very important!). I've just made a soup to take to work the next couple of days, and it smells amazing. I think that's because rather than frying the veg in a little oil first I cooked it in stock, and only added a tablespoon of olive oil at the end of cooking, just before I pureed it, so as well as the yummy veg there's a lovely smell of fresh olive oil. I can't help thinking the quinoa pilaf would go really well with a glass of red wine, oh well I shall just have to try that next month!

In other news, the references are all finished and the application is winging its way to UpNorth Uni for them to add their supporting statement before sending it off to the ESRC. After a last minute panic it all seems to be going alarmingly smoothly.
