Apologies that this month's blog entries really aren't that fantastic or earth-shattering. One of the reasons I'm doing this diet now is that I knew April was going to be a slow news month on the social front so there would be less in the way of temptations and distractions. This week I'm getting through a lot of the stuff I cooked last week, so yesterday and today have been pretty similar menu-wise. I'm now eating my own muesli, which isn't bad (though I say so myself) - in case I need to make it again, here it is (makes 2kg, 100g is worth 6 weightwatchers points).
1250g porridge oats
200g oat bran
300g raisins
150g chopped dried apricots
50g pumpkin seeds
50g sunflower seeds
I must admit I can notice that there isn't any sugar, but that's not a bad thing I don't think.
Anyway, here's the usual lowdown:
Breakfast: Muesli, with fruit (kiwi/banana).
Lunch: Yesterday: Salad consisting of tomatoes, avocado, rocket, bean sprouts and yellow pepper, followed by an apple. Today: Same salad, plus broccoli and flageolet bean soup, then an apple.
Dinner: Quinoa pilaf followed by some raisins and fruit (strawberries/grapes).
Drinks: Mostly rooibosch today. Very nice.
Today's Exercise: Yesterday: walking to work. Today: gym.
Good thing about today (and yesterday): This could well be my imagination (or more likely wishful thinking) but I think my belly is going down a bit!
Number of chocolate cravings: Only 1 yesterday, I think because I didn't take enough lunch so was a little peckish when I was walking home (which is often when I'd think to buy chocolate - so I'm not sure if I really wanted chocolate or am just still in the habit of buying and snacking).
Side effect du jour: my poo is no longer bright yellow - it's now a really odd dark green. Eek. Presumably that means my liver is getting rid of some excess crappy baggage - have I really abused it this much?????!!!
