Well, my disguise worked, I wasn't collared by an over-zealous warden demanding to know if I was a Mystery Worshipper, and I actually rather enjoyed the experience of going to a church somewhat different to my own and rating it as an outsider. Obviously I won't reveal name and location until the report is published, but anyway it was fun and I'd like to do it again sometime.
At lunchtime quite a crowd of MWers met up in Covent Garden for lunch, rather more of us than were expected turned up so a group of us latecomers found ourselves on the naughty table in another part of the restaurant. But people joined us once they'd finished eating so although I didn't manage to speak to everyone I did talk with a fair few. I have to say, those of you waiting for the reports to be published, you're in for a treat, I can't wait to read some of the reports. Mine's probably going to end up being quite sensible, but listening to some of the other tales of what happened in services this morning, a fair few of the reports are going to be absolutely hilarious (for all sorts of many and varied reasons), and overall I think it's going to be a fascinating snapshot of church life in London.
Sadly I don't think Belgo's are into Carol Vorderman's detox diet so lunch probably wasn't as wholesome as it could have been (and contained at least two banned elements). I'll try and undo the damage next week. Though as I'm starting to feel a bit fluey, the urge to comfort snack will be strong. Hopefully the Lemsip will knock it on the head before it takes too much of a hold.
