Weekly weight loss 1kg (2.2 lbs)
Total weight loss so far 4.5 kg (9.9 lbs)
Weight left to lose to reach target 4kg (8.8 lbs) according to my bathroom scales, about twice that according to the surgery scales. So between about half and one stone to go, depending on which I choose to believe.
I also had a snotty note from weightwatchers online informing me that over the last few weeks I have been losing on average more than 2lbs a week and didn't I realise that not eating very much is bad for me as well as unsustainable and I'll end up just putting the weight back on again? Which actually I am very well aware of, but I've lost this weight despite absolutely stuffing my face. Not eating enough really doesn't come into it, I'm glad to say. I am pleased the weight loss has slowed down a little though - I don't want to pile it back on and want it to be sustainable, but do feel that the kickstart provided by this diet was a good thing for me.
In other news, today I had one of my least favourite work experiences - our whole neighbourhood health visitors meeting. They're always painful and unproductive, and several of my colleagues can't contribute without shouting and squawking, often at the same time as all the other shouters and squawkers. Not for the first time I literally sat there with my hands over my ears waiting for them to stop. One of them, who has the diplomatic skills of a herd of elephants, managed to offend all of her very supportive team, and the more she said, the larger the hole she was digging became, and there was nothing any of us could do. I was discussing this afterwards with T, the other HV who works at my surgery. The issue had been about supporting this particular HV and taking the slack on her caseload whilst she does another clinic over and above her full-time work. Now, I take a day a week out of my caseload to do the Agenda for Change job panels, and so far the promised extra support hasn't materialised (we were supposed to be getting a bank health visitor to cover our caseload for the day that we work on A4C, although the managers who agreed this didn't actually register that the number of health visitors on our bank is 0). So, T covers my caseload when I'm off, and likewise if he has leave or other courses or whatever I cover his. And it works. It really is that simple. I simply cannot see for the life of me why everyone else is making such a meal of it. We came to the conclusion that the main reason is because we're not squawky old women*. No wonder health visitors have such a bad reputation.
And as if that wasn't tedious enough, I now have a full-blown cold and am feeling really rotten and sorry for myself. Bleugh.
* Not the exact term we used, we were a tad less complimentary :)
