Judgment Day

... for the nation - yes it's the election. I think I know who I'll be voting for, but that X in the little box will be with a heavy heart.

... for my house. The buyer's surveyor is around at the moment, tapping the walls and poking round in cupboards and generally making a judgment as to its worth. I hate this whole thing - I love my house, the buyers love it, it's only just over 4 years old so there won't be anything major structurally to worry about, so why put me through this stress? Sigh. I am happy though that I managed to tick off the most put-off item on my "to do" list this morning when I finally got rid of the miniature Kew Gardens that was happily growing away in my front gutter. It's been bugging me for ages (especially one yellow-flowered weed which was enormous!), but I hate going up ladders so have been putting it off. I didn't want the surveyor to see it though so I finally plucked up the courage and did it this morning. Actually, although I'm glad I've got rid of it all, it was a marvel to see how 4 years of accumulated leaves and stuff had turned into some lovely compost! Just a shame it wasn't where it was meant to be!

Once he's gone I have to go back to work this afternoon. Hopefully there'll be enough time that I can go to vote first, otherwise I'll have to leave it till nearly closing time (10 o'clock) as I'm doing stuff this evening.

I'm so tempted to spoil my ballot paper by writing a diatribe on why I'm so disillusioned with them all. But I won't.
