Housing hassles and pharmacy rant (sorry yay!)

Actually they wouldn't be hassles if it wasn't so hot, but because I'm all sticky and hot and bothered little things take on much bigger significance than they deserve. The latest in my house move, which so far has been going remarkably smoothly, is that my buyer's solicitors have written them a letter telling them we have to exchange and complete by the start of July, as that is when my current valuation expires (it's a housing association thing - don't ask). There's no chance of that - a. because the buyer and I have already agreed to exchange and complete in mid-August so we're both working to that date; b. because it's really easy to extend the valuation (I've already done it once); but mainly c. her solicitors are so flippin' slow they've so far done no work at all as far as I (and my solicitors) can tell and so even if we did change our agreement in order to complete by July they won't have sorted it all out in time - they haven't even done the basic searches yet. In the meantime, they've panicked my buyer, made me unnecessarily anxious and got me even more hot and bothered than I already was. Gah. Much as I'll be sad to move (in terms of leaving the house, not in terms of going UpNorth), I'll be glad when it's all over.

In other news, with apologies to Yay, may I say that I'm not at all impressed with the pharmacies round here? I'm about to run out of contact lens solution (I have my check up on Monday so will get more solution then, but just need a bit to tide me over for 3 or 4 days). Some have no contact lens solution at all, one only had solution that contained hydrogen peroxide (I'm sorry, I'm not letting that anywhere near my eyeballs thankyouverymuch, with monthly disposable soft lenses I don't have much in the way of protein deposits which needs anything so drastic), and none had any normal saline at all (which is basically what my usual solution is). Maybe I'm being picky, but I would have thought that normal saline would be a really standard stock item? It's not like it's some obscure medication that hardly anybody uses. Gah again.

And, seeing as I've whinged about 2 things, let me add another whinge. Dang cats. They've/It's snapped two of my sunflowers and pushed over one of my pots (with one of my most precious plants). Coming after last week's great squirrel hole-digging session I'm not in a very good mood with the representatives of the local animal kingdom at the moment. Grrrr.
